Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro launched in India

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro has been launched in India as the successor to the widely-popular Redmi Note 5 Pro. Redmi Note 6 Pro was earlier unveiled as a global variant in some markets and the smartphone has finally made its way to the Indian consumers. Redmi Note 6 Pro features quad cameras with AI, is powered by the Snapdragon 636 Mobile Platform and is backed by a large 400mAh battery.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is available in two variants- with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage priced at Rs 13,999. and the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage model priced at Rs 15,999. Redmi Note 6 pro measures 157.9×76.4×8.26mm and weigh 182 grams. The smartphone sports a 6.26-inch Full HD+ (1080×2280 pixels) display with 19:9 aspect ratio and PPI of 403. The dual front cameras are included in the display notch area. The display is 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass and has rounded corners. The panel has a brightness of 500 nits and a contrast ratio of 1500:1. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC with Adreno 509 GPU. It includes 3/4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage.

With respect to the cameras, the smartphone has dual rear cameras- 12-megapixel primary lens with f/1.9 aperture + 5-megapixel secondary lens with f/2.2 aperture. The AI dual cameras support Dual Pixel Autofocus, HDR, Panorama, Burst mode, EIS for video recording and Dynamic Bokeh. There are dual front-facing cameras- 20-megapixel lens with f/2.0 aperture + 2-megapixel secondary lens with f/2.2 aperture. The front cameras support AI Portrait selfie with Beautify 4.0. The selfie cameras feature 4-in-1 Super Pixel with an effective 1.8-micron pixel size.

The rear cameras support Dual Pixel Autofocus for faster focusing along with Electronic Image Stabilisation for better stability in videos. Owing to the wider f/1.9 aperture and 1.4-micron pixel size, the Redmi Note 6 Pro reportedly has better low-light photography. Xiaomi has introduced AI scene detection and recognises 32 categories with 5 India specific ones. There is AI Portrait 2.0 with adjustable Bokeh, Light Trails and Studio Lighting.

On the connectivity front, the smartphone supports Dual SIM Dual VoLTE connectivity and microSD slot. There is Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi direct, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac support. The smartphone is backed by a 4000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0. Redmi Note 6 Pro runs on MIUI 10 out-of-the-box which is based on the Android operating system.
