Xinjiang’s center Zhou Qi works on three-point shooting during CBA hiatus

Beijing, May 24: 7-foot-1 center Zhou Qi scored five three-pointers in a row in a video he released on Douyin, the Chinese version of Tiktok.

The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league is still suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but many teams have restarted training.

The video that Zhou Qi released is a clip from jump shot training at a Xinjiang Flying Tigers training session.

“Great, My brother!” Zhou Qi’s teammate Xiralijan Muhtar commented.

Zhou’s national team teammate Zhai Xiaochuan said: “I have been waiting for you! You didn’t let me down!”

Zhou Qi, who was widely criticized for his below-par performance at the FIBA World Cup, rediscovered his best form in the new CBA season.

He averaged 20.7 points, 11.9 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in the first 30 rounds of 2019-2020 CBA season.

“Keep fighting, Big Zhou! China’s national basketball team needs you!” a fan said.
