YAIKS delegation meets RRC, seeks clarification on townships

JAMMU, Sept 4: A delegation of Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) here, today met Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (Migrants) T K Bhat and discussed various issues pertaining to displaced community with him.
The delegation led by YAIKS president & Global Kashmiri Pandit Diaspora (GKPD) coordinator, North India R K Bhat comprising of it’s other Core Group members Sanjay Ganjoo, Sanjeev Koul, Rakesh Fotadar and Ashwani Kak informed him that Government should clear it’s stand on the news circulating on Social Media, that Ministry of Home Affairs had said that 10 townships will be created in Kashmir valley in different districts for the return of Kashmiri Pandits to Valley. The delegation further asked Relief Commissioner about the progress of accommodations for the Valley posted migrant employees and schooling of their wards.
The Commissioner informed them that neither there is any such communication from his office nor from Home Ministry about the resettlement of Kashmiri Pandits in 10 townships in Kashmir valley. He sought cooperate to stop such fake and bogus propaganda made by some vested persons.
The Commissioner further assured the delegation that the Government is committed to rehabilitate all 6000 employees’ working under PM package in Valley. He said more quarters in Kashmir valley for employees are under construction and more quarters will be constructed in stipulated time. He said land for the construction of more accommodation has already been identified and owned by the department and the construction work will be speedup.
He said due to COVID there was delay in construction, but now execution has been speeded up. He said that some accommodations have been allotted in Vessue Colony recently and more will be allotted in coming days. He also assured the delegation that they are also trying to build up some schools in and around the locations of camps at Valley.
