YAIKS demands 2 BHK quarters for package employees

JAMMU, Sept 9: Youth All India Kashmir Samaj (YAIKS) has reiterated its demand for construction of 2 BHK flats in Kashmir for the PM package employees instead of one BHK.
In a statement issued here, today the YAIKS president, R K Bhat expressed the hope that the appointment of Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary as Inquiry Officer may recommend the decision of previous Government’s in this regard which had decided to construct 2 BHK flats for Valley posted migrant employees.
He said there is lot of scope to construct more 2BHK flats at Vessu, Sheikhpura and other places. “We will remain grateful to MHA for considering our demand said Bhat.
He further demanded immediate completion of pending work of flats and more construction of 1000 2BHK flats at Vessu Colony and more 500 flats at Shahpura colony that already stands sanctioned for the employees staying in that area.
Bhat said “We have already sent this proposal to Ministry of Home Affairs recently and they too have assured us for 2BHK only instead of 1BHK,. The employees working in Kashmir Valley are first step towards our return, he added.
He said Government should rehabilitate our employees in every respect so that other members of the community should get encouraged to return Kashmir Valley”.
He said “We are optimistic about Narendra Modi Government that our displacement would come to an end during his regime and we will be re-connected back to our land of origin without further delay”.
While referring the meeting of the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha with the UT Administration sometimes back in which the directions were passed to expedite work of 6000 transit accommodations in the Valley and registering the entire Kashmiri Pandits, Bhat criticized and rejected the proposal of 1 BHK flats instead demanded construction of 2 BHK flats as already sanctioned by previous governments.
He said till the construction is completed, the vacant accommodation of the Secretariat employees may be provided to migrant employees.
