JAMMU, Mar 3: BJP organizing general secretary Ashok Kaul today assured the displaced Pandit youth that their party is committed to work for the benefit of people of all three regions of the State of which Kashmiri Pandits are part and parcel.
Addressing a convention organized by Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) titled “Aakhir Kab Tak’’ here today, he said the coalition Government will definitely look into the demands of the YAIKS and will try to come to the expectations of displaced youth.
BJP chief spokesperson, Sunil Sethi while speaking on the occasion said that the issue of 221 candidates fighting for their absorption in Government services will be taken to logical conclusion. He also demanded that the Government should give displaced youth their share in the jobs.
In his address YAIKS president R K Bhat said that it is totally unfortunate that a peace loving community living in exile for over 25 years is being totally neglected by the Government. Is there no place for the community in this nation and how long it has to suffer for justice, he asked?
He said it is a shame on the name of democracy and secularism that people belonging to a miniscule minority are living in exile for last over 25 years and it seems that there is no political will to ensure permanent resettlement and comprehensive rehabilitation.
He said why in last eight years only 1500 posts were filled up out of 6000 job package announced by PM and demanded immediate appointment of remaining 4500 posts and immediate adjustment of 221 posts who are willing to serve in Kashmir Valley.
He also demanded return of KPs to their mother land in Kashmir by carving out smart cities in South, Central and North Kashmir and grant of minority and IDP status to KPs as already recommended by Parliamentary Committee and chairman National Minority Commission.
Comrade Mohan Lal read the welcome address and vote of thanks was proposed by Ajay Safaya. Kuldeep Raina, president Samajik Vikas Sansthan, Ramesh Hangloo, president Peer Panchal, Veer Ji and Virender Kichloo BJP leader also spoke on the occasion.
