JAMMU, Apr 12: Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) while expressing serious concern over the failure of both State and Central Governments in settling the problems of exiled Pandits and dispensing justice to them by restoring the homeland to them, today decided to launch struggle a fresh and involve the public of all three regions through public interlocutors.
This was decided in the meeting of YAKS Core Group here which met under the leadership of its president R K Bhat. The interactive session was attended by senior KP leaders, opinion makers and intellectuals and the document a way forward was also released on the occasion.
The meeting said that with the Government policies the, Kashmiri Pandits one of the oldest and richest civilizations of world is vanishing fast and their plight has been exploited to the hilt by the successive Governments both in the State as well as Centre and the same can’t be tolerated now. The next generation is committed to launch a decisive struggle to restore the homeland of the community.
R K Bhat said the uprooted from its land, it is scattered into realms of confusion and hostility, is disengaged from its culture and heritage links and deprived of employment opportunities and political empowerment which is a cause of concern in the community.
The meeting said that despite recommendations of granting minority status to the community by Parliamentary Committee and National Commission for Minorities the Government failed to implement the same. The meeting said before formation of public interlocutors team a final meeting will be held with GoI, State Constitutional head and State administrative head.
A -12 member team was constituted headed by R K Bhat and its other members will be Sunil Koul, Manoj Handoo, Ajay Safaya, Sanjay Ganjoo, Ravinder Sharma, Rakesh Fotedar, Rakesh Bachloo, D N Bhat, Pushkar Nath Pandita and Mohan Lal Pandita.
