JAMMU, Apr 6: To show the anger and resentment against the selected and soft Killings of the minorities in Kashmir Valley, Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) activists held a strong protest here, today under the leadership of its president R K Bhat.
YAIKS expressed grave concern over the disturbing situation in Kashmir thereby posing a challenge to the minorities in general and PM package employees in particular who are serving in the Valley.
Addressing to protesters, R K Bhat said under these circumstances the minorities and PM package employees are unable to live a normal life there. He said that no proper care has been taken by those at the helm of affairs for these hapless employees and added that how long time it will take for the Government of India to formulate plans for safety, security and proper accommodation for those minorities living there. He said the safety of these employees should be concern of the UT administration more than the community and there problems need to be addressed immediately. The safety and security of migrant camps in the Valley is the prime concern and Government should take effective steps for the same.
Bhat said if State fails to take an initiative regarding fool proof security at migrant quarters in Valley besides extending all facilities to the migrant employees there it will be construed that a deliberate attempt is being made to hurt the sentiments of minority community who are leading an exiled life for last 32 years.
He said KP employees and their families putting up in Valley feel threatened due to prevailing situation and in case any untoward incident took place the Central and State Governments will be fully responsible for the same as these employees are living under threat perception and under compulsion. YAIKS has demanded fool proof security for them.
When Government couldn’t rehabilitate just some 5000 employees for last 12 years, how come they talk for the return and rehabilitation of lacs of the families, he added.
he appealed the Narendra Modi Government to finalise the comprehnsive rehabilitation plan for resettling them in Kashmir their land of origin after proper consultation with community leadership. He said it is unfortunate that Delimitation Commission has also ignored them by not extending reservations to them.
B K Bhat, Manoj Handoo, Sanjay Ganjoo, Ashwani Kak etc also addressed the protestors.
