JAMMU, June 2: The activists of Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) held a protest demonstration in front of Press Club here against the anti-national and anti-social elements who on the behest are trying to sabotage the return of Pandits to their motherland Kashmir.
The demonstration was led by R K Bhat president YAIKS. The protestors alleged that under a hatched conspiracy and on the behest of Pakistan and ISI, these elements were sabotaging the return of Kashmiri Pandits who are leading an exiled life outside Valley to their motherland.
They said these elements were also responsible for the mass exodus of Pandits from Kashmir and now they were sabotaging their return under a conspiracy.
The YAIKS activist wanted to know how long this will continue and how long Pandits will remain out from their native place.
Questioning the opposition by the separatists and some mainstream parties to the construction of separate colonies for KPs in Valley, they said when such colonies exist in different parts of India as well as in Jammu why Pandits can’t have separate colonies in Valley. Moreover, when majority community in Kashmir established separate colonies from time to time earlier and Pandits never objected to same why they are objecting the separate colonies for the miniscule minority. Besides, they hatched a conspiracy of forcing Pandits to flee from Valley to make Kashmir a separate colony and if it was genuine and right what logic they have to oppose the separate colonies for us, they added.
The protesters said that for last 27 years, the Government has failed to rehabilitate the hapless community and the Pandits have no place to call their home as they are holding temporary ration cards while they were denied the jobs over these years under a sinister design.
The PM’s employment package announced in 2008 has not been implemented over these years and there is no hope in near future. They said that the community had pinned high hopes in Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard but it seems that this Government is also casual towards the cause of displaced people.
YAIKS also demanded that GoI should come with a open road map on return and not hold hidden meetings with some self styled leaders.
The protesters demanded smart cities for return and rehabilitation of Pandits in Valley, declaration of KPs as internally displaced people, one time compensation of Rs 25 lakh for over aged youth, implementation of PM’s package and declaring the PM package employees at par with migrant employees.
