JAMMU, Jan 22: The indefinite dharna launched by Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) in front of Raj Bhawan in support of its demands including implementation of PM’s package in toto and  absorption of 221 left out youth entered fifth day today.
The protesting YAIKS activists want to turn the attention of Governor N N Vohra towards the plight of these youth who are at the verge of overage and if they are not provided a chance this time it will be a grave injustice with them,
The dharna is led by YAIKS president R K Bhat. The protestors demanded immediate filling up of remaining 4000 posts under PM package out of 6000 posts announced by then Prime Minster, Dr Manmohan Singh way back in 2008 including the selection of pending 221 petitioners.
They said these youth were ignored due to biased and negligent approach of the State Government towards the displaced Pandits.
Addressing the protestors R K Bhat said that it is unfortunate on the part of Government to provide justice to these deserving youth. He said Government is adopting delaying tactics in absorbing these 221 youth for last eight months while it deliberately ignored them while making selections in 2010.
Bhat said that these 221 posts have already been reserved for the youth who were falling in the list at the time of their selection but the Government for unknown reasons failed to issue their appointment orders even after the directives of court of law.
He said from time to time directives were given to State Government by various agencies but to no avail. Even the recommendations of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs have not been considered. Even the State Government vide a Cabinet decision has also made it clear to the recruitment agencies to absorb these youth while the Governor also made a recommendation in this regard but to no avail.
Bhat warned that in case the Government failed to provide justice to these youth the activists of YAIKS will take extreme step and the Government will be responsible for all consequences.
Others who spoke included Anil Pandita, Ajay Chaman, Sandeep Bhat, Vinod Ji, D N Baht, Dileep Koul, Deepak Dhar, Shuban Ji, P N Pandita, Piyara Lal Pandita and Mohan Lal Bhat.
