JAMMU, Oct 4: Dogri and Hindi Litterateur, cultural activist, Linguist, Journalist and Social worker Yash Paul will be honoured with Dr Raghuvansh Smriti Samman by the KB Sahitya Samiti, Badayun (Uttar Pradesh) for his literary contributions in Dogri and Hindi language.
This was announced by Dr Satish Chander Sharma Sudhanshu, president, KB Sahitya Samiti, in a statement today. The award function will be organized on 18th of December at Badayun (UP).
Yash Paul Nirmal was born in a village Ghari Bishna of tehshil Akhnoor, district Jammu. He joined Jammu Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages as a Research Assistant in Dogri in December 2009. Yashpaul started his writing in 1994.
He had translated Shrimad Bhagwad Puran in Dogri in the year 1996. His major and popular books in Dogri language are Anmol Jindagi, Bus Tony Gai Toon Aein, Lok Dhara, Dogri Vyakaran, Dogri Phonetic Reader, Aol Dogri Sikhache, Mian Deedo, Dogri Vyakaran, etc. His major and popular Hindi books are Ghari, Asli Varis, Pindi Darshan, Sahitya Manthan, etc.
