JAMMU, Apr 7: Secretary Cooperative Department, Yasha Mudgal today visited Jammu Cooperative Wholesales Limited, Super Bazar, Jammu to inspect ongoing construction work of modernization of Super Bazar, Jammu.
During her visit, the Secretary inspected all the counters of the Super Bazar Wholesale Limited and also interacted with General Manager and other staff of the unit.
The Secretary expressed her dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work executed by the R&B (PWD) Department and she gave several on spot directions for early completion of all ongoing modernization work of Building including Tiling, POP and electric work etc.
The Secretary also directed the executing agency to make all out efforts to complete ongoing works within 7 days and for completion of work of the façade by 30th of April 2022.
The Secretary also directed Management of the unit for proper up keep of the counters and to make them attractive so that maximum people of Jammu and adjoining areas visit the Super Market and avail the facilities of the Super Bazars.
She exhorted upon the employees and General Manager, Super Bazar, Jammu to work with zeal and dedication, so that the business of Jammu Cooperative Wholesales Limited Super Bazar is augmented.
The Secretary also inspected the parking lot of Jammu Development Authority on the Superbazaar land . The land has been occupied by JDA for parking. The Secretary Cooperatives directed the RCS for taking up the matter with the concerned for payment of compensation for the same to the Superbazaar.
Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Shafqat Iqbal and Additional Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Dr. Narupa Rai accompanied the Secretary and briefed about the present status of modernization and other developmental works of the unit, besides other officers and officials were also present during her visit.
Later, the Secretary Co-operative Department also chaired a meeting of senior officers to review the working and action taken on the decisions of previous meetings of Co-operative Department here at Civil Secretariat, Jammu.
At the outset, threadbare discussions were held on various issues viz; progress made on Registration of new Cooperative Societies, Revival of defunct Co-operative Societies, progress on CAPEX expenditure, status of Super Bazaars, Divisional/ District level DPCs, reconciliation with NCDC, Audit Paras, Progress of JAKFED, documentation of Societies’ performance & success stories and formation of multi society models/ business entities.
The Secretary said that the movement of revival of the societies should continue for the strengthening and the further betterment of the farming community. She expressed her displeasure that few districts have achieved only single digit growth in terms of revival of Defunct Societies and registration of FPOs. She directed that every district should achieve minimum double digit in this regard writing the next two months.
Regarding the identification of land for establishment of new super bazar in various district, the Deputy Registrar informed that the land has been identified and DPR has been submitted to the concerned quarters.
