JAMMU, Oct 4: Renowned children’s litterateur Yashpaul Nirmal has been announced to be awarded the “Bal Vatika Srijan Samman” for the year 2023-24 by Bal Vatika (Children’s Magazine) Family, Bhilwara (Rajasthan) for his significant contribution in the field of children’s literature.
Along with these, six more children’s writers from across the country will also be honoured.

It is noteworthy that Yashpaul Nirmal was born on April 15, 1977 in the house of Kanta Devi and Chaman Lal in village Garhi Bishna of Chhamb Jourian, border area of Jammu and Kashmir. He did post graduation and M.Phil in Dogri language from Jammu University. He qualified SLET in Dogri language from Jammu University in the year 2005 and UGC NET in Dogri language in the year 2006. He had the knowledge of Dogri, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu and English languages. He is doing translation work in many languages. He started his professional life as a private school teacher in 1996.
In the year 2007, he was appointed as a guest lecturer for teaching Dogri language and linguistics at the Northern Regional Language Centre, Punjabi University Campus, Patiala and after teaching for three years, he took up the post of research assistant at the Jammu Kashmir Art, Culture and Language Academy in December 2009.
He is working in many literary magazines, prominent among which are Dogri Anushand (Dogri), Soch Sadhna (Dogri), Parakh Patnakal (Dogri).
