JAMMU, Dec 8: Dogri and Hindi litterateur, cultural activist, linguist, journalist and social worker Yash Paul Nirmal will be awarded with the Vidhya Vachaspati Upadhi by the Bhasha Hindi Vidhyapeeth, Bhagalpur Bihar for his remarkable contributions in the field of Dogri and Hindi language and literature.
The Award function cum convocation will be held at Ujjain on December 13 and 14, in which Yashpaul Nirmal will be honoured and conferred with the Vidya Vachaspati (Honorary PhD Degree) for his contribution.
Yashpaul Nirmal was born in a village Ghari Bishna of Tehshil Akhnoor, District Jammu of J&K. He got his early education in the Government Primary School, Ghari Bishna and later did MA and MPhil in Dogri from Jammu University. He qualified SLET and NET in Dogri. He also did diplomas in Punjabi, Urdu, Journalism and Computer.
He started his carrier as a private school teacher in 1996. He joined Northern Regional Language Centre, Patiala as contractual faculty to teach Dogri and linguistics to the trainees of one year diploma course in Dogri. In the December 2009 Yashpaul Nirmal joined Jammu Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages as Research Assistant in Dogri and in 2017, he was promoted as Assistant Editor in Dogri Language. Yashpaul started his writing in 1994 and had translated Shrimad Bhagwad Puran in Dogri in the year 1996. His major and popular books in Dogri language are Anmol Jindagi, Bus Toon Gai Toon Aein, Lok Dhara, Dogri Vyakaran, Dogri Phonetic Reader, Ao Dogri Sikhchey, Mian Deedo, Dogri Vyakaran Te Samvad Koushal, Dogri Bhasha Te Vyakaran, etc.
