Yateem Trust distributes material among orphan girls

SRINAGAR, Mar 19: Jammu and Kashmir Yateem Trust distributed educational and other material among the orphan girls during a function here today. The function was attended by galaxy of distinguished personalities with outgoing Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asghar Samoon being the chief guest.
The material distributed among the orphans girls include summer and winter sets of clothes, uniforms and miscellaneous items costing Rs. 22,000 per child. The Jammu and Kashmir Yateem Trust has been sponsoring the education of 237 orphan girls and is providing educational and other assistance to such girls at their respective homes.
Apart from this hundreds of boys and girls are under care of the Trust at its 11 orphanages. Under the “Educating the Orphan Girl Children” programme, the Trust provides every year educational and all other domestic material to these girls so that they are able to prosecute their studies without any hindrances.
The function was presided over by the patron of the Trust Z A Tak. Zareef Ahmad Zareef, the famous Kashmiri poet was also invited as guest. The guests commended the educating the orphan girl children, programme of the Trust while highlighting the importance of the girl education. They asked the girls to study with all the zest so that they achieve success in life.
The patron assured the girls that the Trust will endeavour to support them in the thick and thin of their lives so that they don’t feel helpless.
