YC to fight for rights of farmers: Nimran

JAMMU, June 20: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress general secretary Nimrandeep Singh Bhullar today claimed that Congress would fight for the rights of farmers.
While interacting with a delegation of farmers from border area of Suchetgarh and RS Pura today Bhullar discussed their long pending issues. They told him that the local authorities previously told farmers of thios border belt that the leftover cases regarding damage crops compensation will be cleared soon, but as of now nobody is ready to listen their grievances.
Farmers said that they are still waiting for their damaged crops compensation, but due to attitude of neglect by local authorities, they lost all their hopes. Farmers also said that their compensation regarding the agriculture land which comes under fencing is also pending for the couple of years.
Listening to their grievances, Bhullar criticized the Jammu & Kashmir UT administration for ignoring various farmers related issues. He said that Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojana (PMFBY) implemented by the Central Government is merely on papers, which needs immediate redressal in order to give benefits to farmers who suffered losses to their crops.
Nimran said that farmers are being ignored by the authorities during this Covid-19 lockdown and are deducting the loan amount installments arbitrarily without any intimation to them. He assured farmers that their grievances will be taken up with the higher authorities.
