JAMMU, Oct 15: Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) organized a guest lecture on “Computer Security and Ethical Hacking” for Computer and Information Technology Engineering students of BE 3rd and 7th semester.
Er Niraj Dubey (Associate Professor) (GCET) was the resource person who delivered the guest lecture. He briefed the students about basics of Computer Security and Ethical Hacking. He explained to the students that Computer Security is the protection of computer systems from the theft or damage to their hardware, software, or electronic data, as well as from the disruption or misdirection of the services they provide.
Ethical hacking refers to the act of locating weaknesses and vulnerabilities of computer and information systems by duplicating the intent and actions of malicious hackers. The objective of the lecture was to enlighten the students with the advanced technology in the Computer Security. Main perspective of the lecture was to make the students familiar with the Computer Security and Ethical Hacking and also guide the students for their future in latest technologies.
Dr A K Srivastva, Director, YCET , Er B R Verma, Chief Coordinator ,YCET, Er Robin Kumar HoD, Computer & IT Department and Faculty Members of the Department were also present during the session for motivating the students. Overall the session was proven to be very inspiring and informative for students.
The session ended with the vote of thanks while Er Rajnish Magotra, Coordinator Student Affairs earlier presented the welcome address.
