3-day long Shivir begins at Gole Gujral

JAMMU, Nov 15: Bharatiya Yog Sansthan (BYS) has organized a three days ‘All India Yog Prashikshan Shivir 2024’ at Yog Ashram, Gole Gujral, here.
The Shivir started today which was inaugurated by Yog-Rattan Des Raj, All India president, BYS. The Shivir is being attended by more than 500 Yog Sadhakas that included members from National Executive, State and district heads of Yog Sansthan. They have come from 23 different States and foreign countries including from Canada.
Des Raj national president of Bharatiya Yog Sansthan in his inaugural address said that this Shivir would be technical in nature and different aspects of Yoga and its positive impact on good health shall be deliberated in various sessions.
He said dedicated Yoga sessions on good immune health, bone health and nervous system have been kept besides on meditation, silence and Yog-nindra. Further, a review of the activities/efforts of BYS for spreading the knowledge of Yoga within and outside the country would be held.
He further informed that at present 4500 Yoga classes are being run by BYS where Yoga is taught free of cost. This is perhaps the only organization where Yoga classes are conducted free of cost. He also informed that BYS has 45 Yog related publications to its credit. Sansthan is also publishing a quarterly Yoga magazine i.e Yoga Manjari which is without any advertisement.
The focus of the Sansthan is to spread the knowledge of Yoga to every individual of the society by starting free Yoga classes where ever possible within and outside the country. He informed that Department of Education is availing expert services of BYS for training its Yoga teachers. Further various other Government Departments also depute their staff to us for learning Yaga.
National general secretary, Lalit Gupta also spoke on the occasion. He delivered a lecture on Gyan Yog.
