JAMMU, June 4: On directions of Director AYUSH, Dr. Mohan Singh and under the supervision of DAO Dr. Vandana Dogra and in collaboration with Government College of Education, Directorate of AYUSH, Jammu organized a mega yoga camp on ‘Yoga for Women Empowerment’ for fitness of ladies. The camp was organized under the guidance and supervision of Principal, Dr. (Prof.) Jyoti Parihar to raise awareness about the benefits of Yoga among students.
The lady staff and girl students participated in various Yoga postures and were taught different methods of meditation.
The programme was led by Dr. Himani Bhutyal, Dr. Sandeep Bhagat and Dr. Chetan Singh—Medical Officers of AYUSH and their team including Ishan Mansotra, Jyoti Bali and Sheetal Khajuria—Yoga Instructors.
Dr. Himani Bhutyal delivered a lecture on ‘Personal and Menstrual Hygiene’ and explained in detail about do’s and don’ts of personal hygiene.
Queries by girl students related to the topic were cleared by her.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Jyoti Parihar, Principal expressed her views on the importance of Yoga.
Dr. Rajinder Kour, M. Ed Coordinator; Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, Convener Women Development Cell; Prof. Sarita Dogra, NSS PO and Prof. Priyanka Mahajan organized the programme.
