UDHAMPUR, Apr 24: A 16-year old scooty rider died while his pillion sustained critical injuries when their two-wheelers was hit by a Tata Mobile near village Nille Nallah Jib on Thathi road Udhampur.
The deceased has been identified as Sarubjeet Chander (16), son of Anchal Singh of Jakhani. The injured, identified as Varun Verma (13), son of Nek Ram of village Pali, was admitted to District Hospital Udhampur.
The accident took place this morning around 7.30 a.m when the scooty, bearing registration number JK02BF-5168, was hit by Tata Mobile JK14C-1847. Locals shifted the injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred critically injured Sarubjeet to GMC Hospital Jammu, However, he succumbed to his injuries on way to Jammu.
Meanwhile, Udhampur police today recovered an unidentified male dead body from Domail near TCP Udhampur.
The deceased appears to be in the age group of 45-50. Cause of death could not be ascertained while Police shifted the body to District Hospital Udhampur for identification and postmortem.
