JAMMU, Sept 11: A young girl of Jourian who had allegedly consumed some poisonous substance some days back, died last night at a hospital in Ludhiana.
“The deceased has been identified as Varsha Rani, daughter of Pawan Singh, resident of Bhalwal Colony, falling under the jurisdiction of police post Jourian,” a police official said. He said the girl was shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH), Akhnoor about 4-5 days back in serious condition after which her family took her to a hospital in Ludhiana, where she passed away last night.
The official said that the body of the girl was brought back this evening and shifted to mortuary room of SDH Akhnoor and after getting conducted postmortem tomorrow, it will be handed over to its legal heirs for last rites. The Jourian police had taken cognizance of the matter, he added.
