RAJOURI, Apr 4: A young girl was killed while her mother received minor injuries in lightning at Targain village in Budhal this afternoon.
Police sources said that incident took place when both 17-year-old Ulfat Jan, daughter of Jan Mohd and her mother were sitting in open Veranda of their house at Targain. It was raining with thunderstorm. Suddenly, a strong beam of flash light from the sky with thunder struck the girl killing her on the spot while her mother received minor injuries. She turned unconscious for some time and was rushed to the hospital at Budhal.
Another lightning incident extensively damaged a large tree in the compound of a house at village Gabbar in Budhal this afternoon, where, at least eight members of the family had miraculous escape.
