UDHAMPUR, Sept 18: A young girl committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at her residence in Ramnagar.
According to police, 17-year old Banku, daughter of Noor Jamal of Birno in Ramnagar, consumed some poisonous substance at her residence late last night. The family members rushed her to Sub District Hospital Ramnagar where doctors referred her to District Hospital Udhampur because of her serious condition. Despite hectic efforts by the doctors, she did not respond to the treatment and died.
Cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be immediately ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
