JAMMU, Dec 29: The body of a young girl was found hanging today at her residence in Sunjwan area on city outskirts while a man was attacked with a sharp edged weapon by some miscreants in Miran Sahib area.
A 22-year-old girl namely Shamim Bibi daughter of Niyaz Ali, resident of Sunjwan (Jammu) allegedly committed suicide as her body was found hanging this morning at her residence. The body of the deceased was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu and after postmortem, handed over to its legal heirs for last rites while Police Post Chatta had taken cognizance of the matter.
As per the reports, the deceased girl was about to get marry in a month and even the day before day yesterday, she along with her family members had done shopping for her marriage.
Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man namely Tejinder Singh son of Darshan Singh, resident of Ward Number 2, Simbal Camp Jammu) was attacked with a sharp edged weapon by some by some unknown miscreants over some issue. In the attack, the man received some injuries on one of his legs and was rushed to GMCH Jammu for medical treatment. Miran Sahib Police had taken cognizance of the matter.
