UDHAMPUR, Oct 23: A young housewife was found hanging on a tree under mysterious circumstances in an isolated area near the house of her in-laws at village Lehnu near Tikri, here today.
The deceased was identified as Sapna Devi (19) wife of Chandan Lal of village Lehnu. The body was spotted by the family members who released it from the noose, made of Dupatta, without informing the police.
Later, on getting information, police reached the spot and shifted the body to hospital for postmortem. A case under Section 174 RPC has been registered in this connection for further investigation.
Meanwhile, one person was injured when his Alto car was hit by an unidentified vehicle on the National Highway near Tikri.
The injured was identified as Sushil Kumar son of Gurdas Chand of Dansal Jammu and his condition was stated to be stable.
