RAMBAN, Aug 1: A 25-year-old lady allegedly committed suicide by hanging at her residence in village Gandote of Ramban Tehsil in wee hours today.
After receiving information a police team reached the spot and shifted the body to District Hospital for post mortem and other legal formalities.
The deceased was identified as Nirmala Devi, wife of Ragbeer Singh, resident of Gandhote, Panchayat Seri-B, Ramban.
SHO Police Station Ramban, Inspector Nayeem Ahmed Matoo said body of the deceased was handed over to her relatives for last rites.
He said that inquest proceedings under 174 CrPc have been initiated at Police Station Ramban.
