Young Lawyers Association elects new body

Newly elected office bearers of Young Lawyers Association along with supporters.

JAMMU, Aug 25: The Youth wing of Bar Association Jammu, held elections for the new office bearers of the Young Lawyers Association.
Out of the 1100 voters a total of 554 votes were cast and Advocate Daljit Singh Manhas came out victorious as the President while Advocate Benish Kazmi Syed was elected as the General Secretary for a term of 2 Years. Advocate Pradeep Majotra, Advocate Sahil and Advocate Shazia Azad were elected unopposed as Vice President, Joint Secretary and Cashier respectively.
For the post of president there were four contestants viz; Adv Arjun Singh Pathania, Adv Rohit Bhagat, Adv Meharban Singh, Adv Daljit Singh Manhas. There was a direct contest for the post of General Secretary between Adv Benish Kazmi Syed and Charanjeet Singh (Cheeku).
Adv Daljit Singh took a lead of 8 votes and won by 181 votes while Adv Benish Kazmi Syed took a lead of 51 votes and won by 298 votes. The elections were held under the supervision of Returning Officer Ex President YLA Adv Rohan Nanda.
