UDHAMPUR, Aug 16: A young man was found dead in Tawi River near Salmay Bridge in Udhampur, here today.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as Rakesh Kumar (35), son of Girdhari Lal, resident of Charri Swail Udhampur. He was found dead in Tawi River under mysterious circumstances. The body was noticed by some locals, who informed the Udhampur Police Station.
Later, the body was taken to District Hospital Udhampur and after completion of all the legal formalities and postmortem, it was handed over to the family members for last rites. Cause of death could not be ascertained while Police have registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
