UDHAMPUR, Oct 4: A young man was stoned to death by his relatives at village Mali in Udhampur, here last night.
Reports said that Madan Lal (35), son of Taj Ram of village Mali, was murdered by his relative Tirth Ram (28) son of Ashok Kumar of the same village, who hit his victim with a stone following a tiff between the two over some trivial issue.
Madan Lal reportedly died on the spot while the accused fled the scene after committing crime. However, he was soon arrested by police party, led by SHO Udhampur, Inspector Sanjeev Singh Chib, from nearby area.
Motive behind the killing was yet to be ascertained.
The police after completion of all the formalities and postmortem handed over the body to family members.
In this regard, a case under section 302/RPC has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation is going on.
