POONCH, Aug 13: Mystery shrouds the death of a 17-year-old girl, whose dead body was recovered from Pulast river near dam in Sathra area of Mandi this evening.
Official sources said that young girl- Parveen Akhtar, daughter of Wali Mohd, resident of Sagna Trichal village in Mandi area, went missing from her home during early morning. The parents reported the matter to police after they could not trace the girl after search in the vicinity. The family, relatives and villagers started search for the girl through out the day.
During evening, they could trace Dupatta of the girl near bridge at the bank of river Pulast. Then they started searching for the girl down-stream. After travelling about one and half kilometers down, near Kehranwani Dam, they traced the dead body of the girl.
The police party led by SHO shifted the body of the girl to SDH, Mandi for post-mortem. The police registered a case and started investigation. The police said they were working on all the angles. It could be suicide or even any foul-play. After post-mortem and reports from Forensic Lab, the things would be clear, the police said.
