AKHNOOR, May 30: Irritated over unusual power cuts, hundreds of youth held a massive protest demonstration against Power Development Department (PDD) in front of Tehsildars Office, here today.
Around hundreds of youth under the leadership of Atul Sudan, provincial secretary, Young Panthers, gathered at Tehsildar office, Akhnoor and staged protest demonstration seeking immediate intervention of respective authorities of PDD Department to provide respite to the people from scheduled and unscheduled power cuts.
Speaking on the occasion, Atul Sudan said that the people of Akhnoor are bound to face unusual power cuts even in this scorching heat and nobody is paying heed to their plight. It is shameful that Akhnoor having full political representation is still deprived of basic civic amenities like electricity, water and roads.
He said that young Panthers shall stand with the people in all odds and circumstances and fight for their immediate relief.
