UDHAMPUR, July 3: A young woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a canal at Mandal Chenani, while in another incident, a missing youth was found hanging from tree in a Ramnagar village.
Reports said that Neelma Devi (35), wife of Mohan Lal, resident of Nagulta, Ward number 3, Chenani, was found dead in a canal. On being informed by some locals, police shifted the dead body to Sub District Hospital Chenani for the postmortem.
The police after completion of all the formalities and postmortem, handed over the body to family members for last rites registered the case under 174 RPC for further investigation.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a missing youth was found hanging from a tree near his house at village Baryalta in Ramnagar, here today.
The deceased was identified as Govind Ram (22), son of Shambhu Ram, resident of village Baryalta in Ramnagar. Family members said that deceased was missing from his house June 24 and a report in this regard was also registered at Ramnagar Police Station on June 26.
Even as police has registered a case in this connection under 174 RPC for further investigation, the deceased appeared to have committed suicide for the unknown reasons.
