UDHAMPUR, Jan 8: In a murderous assault, a youth was attacked with sharp edged weapons by three assailants at Slathia Chowk Udhampur, here today.
According to the police report, the victim, identified as Sourav Singh Rathore (22), son of Maan Singh Rathore of village Omalla Udhampur, was assaulted by the accused with a Khukhri.
Police shifted the victim to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu for advanced treatment.
Acting swiftly, Police arrested one of the assailants, identified as Arif Chandel while search for the others two, identified as Nadeem Chandel and Sparsh Bhat, was going on.
A case has been registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur while weapon of offence has also been seized.
Some old animosity was stated to be reason behind the assault.
