JAMMU, Feb 8: A 22-year old youth was assaulted today with a sharp edged weapon by another youth at Kalri in Kot Bhalwal area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the victim was playing with some little children near his residence at Kalri, when a youth identified as Tony son of Pintu, a resident of Jourian (at present Bantalab) came suddenly and after attacking the youth with a sharp edged weapon at his back, fled from the spot.
The injured youth was immediately shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where his condition was stated to be stable till the last reports came in.
Meanwhile, the concerned police has taken cognizance of the matter. However, no arrest was made in the case till late night.
