JAMMU, Apr 10: A 26-year-old youth was booked for raping a girl on the pretext of marriage here at Akhnoor area on Monday, police sources said.
They said Deep Sharma (26) of Jourian was committing crime with a 22-year-old girl for the past around one-and-a-half-year.
“After the youth refused to marry the victim, she and her parents lodged a written complaint with Police Post Jourian,” police sources said.
Taking cognisance of the complaint, sources said, the accused has been booked under the relevant sections of the law at Akhnoor Police Station and further investigation taken up.
