JAMMU, Sept 14: A 26-year-old youth today allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence here in New Plot area.
According to a police spokesperson, the youth identified as Ravinder Kumar (20) son of Vijay Kumar, a resident of New Plot, allegedly tried to end his life in the wee hours of today by consuming some poisonous substance.
In unconscious condition, the family members shifted him to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he expired at about 8 am. The body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after completing all medico-legal formalities.
A case in this connection has been registered at concerned police station and investigations started to ascertain the reasons behind this extreme step taken by the deceased youth.
