KATHUA, Apr 29: A youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at village Dholoti, under the jurisdiction of Rambagh police station.
Police spokesman said that, 21-years-old Surinder Kumar, son of Des Raj of village Dholoti, left home this evening for his fields. Some passerby noticed him hanging from a tree in his fields, and informed his family members, he added.
Finding him hanging, family members informed the police and shifted him to Hiranagar hospital, where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
The body was later shifted to District Hospital Kathua, where the postmortem will be conducted tomorrow.
A case has been registered at Rambagh police station and investigation started to ascertain the reason behind such extreme step.
