JAMMU, June 5: In a tragic incident, an 18-year-old youth, committed suicide at his residence in Rajouri town today.
Giving detail, a police spokesman said that Sumit Sharma, son of Ramesh Chander, originally hailing from Dalogra village and presently, residing in Ward No. 4, Rajouri, near Salani Bridge, was found dead in his room this evening.
He said the boy reportedly took his own life by hanging himself from the ceiling fan hook in his room. The police was informed about the matter and a police team reached the spot and after examining spot, shifted the body to GMC Hospital, Rajouri.
After postmortem, the body was handed over to the family of the deceased. The police registered a case and started investigation. The reason behind this extreme step could not be ascertained.
