UDHAMPUR, Jan 20: A youth committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence in Majalta, here today.
According to Police, Zakar Ali (22), son of Gulam Jilani of Ghar Pmasta, Tehsil Majalta, consumed some poisonous substance at his residence yesterday and the family members noticed him in serious condition. They rushed him to PHC Majalta where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu in view of his serious condition.
However, he did not respond to the treatment and died this morning. The police after completion of all the formalities and postmortem, handed over the body to family members for the last rites. Cause of provocation behind the extreme step could not be ascertained.
Meanwhile, another youth , namely Mohammad Salim (27), son of Nikku of village Chnunata, also consumed some poisonous substance at his residence. He has been admitted in District Hospital Udhampur and his condition was stated to be stable.
