Youth counselling centre being set up in each district of J&K

SRINAGAR :  Sharing the concern of members about youths taking drugs in Jammu and Kashmir, government would consider setting up of drug de-addiction and rehabilitation centres at sports stadia.
This information was given by Minister for Youths Service and Sports Taj Mohiuddin in reply to a suggestion by leader of the opposition of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti in the Legislative Assembly today when the House was discussing development of playing fields.
Ms Mufti said a large number of youths are taking drugs in the state which should be of grave concern for all.
She suggested government should open de-addiction and rehabilitation centres to help these drug addicts.
Mr Taj said that the Department has already started counselling of drug addict youth at GMCs of Srinagar and  Jammu.
He said the government would also consider to setup drug de addiction and rehabilitation centers at sports stadia.
He said the department has a provision of youth counselling and hoped to extend it to district-level. (agencies)
