KATRA, Aug 7: Following custodial death of a youth in Police Station Katra, here today, the District Administration has ordered Magisterial inquiry.

The deceased, identified as Anmol Dogra, son of Puran Chand, resident of Maitial, Ward number 13, Katra, was detained along with two others in a theft case last evening and today he was found hanging in the lock-up.
DC Reasi, Vishesh Pal Mahajan told the Excelsior that a Magisterial inquiry has been ordered to probe the custodial death.
According to SP Katra, Vipan Chandran, the deceased committed suicide by hanging himself with the help of a blanket’s end side when two other accused in the lockup were asleep.
Later the body was shifted to Katra hospital for postmortem by a Board of Doctors. Family members of the deceased said that they came to know about the detention of Anmol through a phone call. They have demanded a fair probe into the matter.
