Youth distributing marriag cards, another killed in accidents

REASI, June 13: In a shocking incident, a youth distributing his marriage cards was killed and his brother critically injured when their bike was hit by a bus while another youth also distributing cards from the same family died in another motor-cycle accident in Pouni area of Reasi this evening.
Reports said Manjit Singh (28), son of Makhan Singh, resident of Dharaan was killed on the spot while his elder brother, Ranjit Singh (33) critically injured when their bike No. JK-20/2809 collided with bus No. JK-14/ 3979 at Thanda Pani in Pouni area at around 4.30 pm today. The mishap took place when both the brothers were carrying wedding cards for distribution among relatives in the area.
Police said Manjit, son of the village Numberdar, was going to be married on June 24 with a girl in his relations. The body of deceased was shifted to Pouni hospital for postmortem while his brother Ranjit was referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu in view of his serious condition. The police seized the bus and registered a case in this connection.
Meanwhile, two youth in their relation who had also left for distributing marriage cards of Manjit, were seriously injured when their over-speeding bike bearing registration No. JK02A/5960 went out of control at a curve near a bridge and fell down into the nallah in Domail area of Pouni block this evening. The shell shocked youth were returning to Pouni hospital after hearing the news of accident of Manjit and his brother. Both the victims, were removed to Pouni hospital where Medical staff after providing first-aid referred them to GMC hospital, Jammu.
While one of them namely, Kuldip Singh, son of Chandu, resident of Dharaan succumbed to injuries near Chowki Chora, Ashok Singh, son of Bachitar Singh was struggling for life in GMC, Jammu hospital.
