JAMMU, May 8: A youth drowned in river Chenab while taking bath near Mirpur area of Khour here today.
As per police sources, a youth identified as Vishal Singh (25), son of late Narinder Singh of Khour was taking bath in river Chenab near Mirpur area of Khour when he got trapped in the strong current of the water and got washed away.
After getting information, police team rushed to the spot and started search operation with other agencies including J&K UTDRF.
The body of the drowned youth was not fished out when last reports were compiled. However, the search operation will be launched tomorrow morning again.
Khour Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
