RAJOURI, Apr 16: A youth drowned while taking bath in a river at village Ladote in Rajouri, here today.
The deceased was identified as Mohd Rohni (25), son of Mohd Ayoub of village Chamb in Kalakote, who along with his neighbour Mohd Iqbal (24), son of Mohd Yaqoob was taking bath in the river after washing their sheep.
As strong flow of river water started drowning both the youth Mohd Iqbal was rescued by some locals while Mohd Rohni could not be saved and he died.
Mohd Iqbal was rushed to GMC Hospital Rajouri for treatment while dead body of deceased was handed over to his family members for the last rites.
