JAMMU, July 1: One youth from UP, working in Komal Paper Mill Kathua today drowned in Kathua Canal while washing his clothes.
He has been identified as Ashok Kumar, (25). When he visited the Kathua canal to wash his clothes he slipped into the canal. Though he tried to stand up and catch hold of bank he was drifted by swift current of the water in the canal.
The Police pressed into service the SDRF team to fish out his body but they could not trace him also. A report in this connection was registered in PS Lakhanpur and tomorrow his body will again be searched in the canal by jawans of SDRF after depleting the water from canal.
