SRINAGAR, Aug 1: A youth has drowned in Nilnag lake in Budgam while bathing and the body of a police officer who drowned in river Jehlum in Baramulla has been fished out.
A police spokesman said Mehraj Ahmed Parray son of Mohammad Sultan of Nowpora drowned in Nilnag Lake in Chadoora while bathing in it. Police has launched search in the lake to retrieve the body.
Meanwhile, body of Police Assistant Sub Inspector Sanullah son of Ghulam Hassan of Pehlipora Boniyar, Uri, has been fished out near ECO Park in Sheeri. The deceased was in Telecommunication department of police and had drowned on July 30 in river Jehlum near Khanpora Bridge.
