RAJOURI, June 6: A youth was drowned in a river in Thandi Kassi area of Rajouri this morning.
A police spokesman said that incident took place when 24-year- old Mohd Ishfaq (student of MA), son of Mir Hussain, resident of Katar Mal village had gone to Thandi Kassi village in the house of his relatives. The boy went for bathing at the local Tawi river at around 10.30 AM. Some other boys of the locality were also there at the river site. The boy while bathing, slipped into the deep water and then drowned. Despite efforts by the other boys at the site, he could not be saved.
The police from Rajouri Police Station also reached the spot and after the completion of legal formalities, handed over the body to his parents.
