SAMBA, Mar 7: In the name of correcting their bank accounts, the gangs of some fraudsters are making the innocent people their victims in Samba district. They get trapped in the web of these fraudsters who take their bank account number, ATM number and withdraw money from their account. It is too late when the account holder comes to know after he or she gets an SMS from the bank that so much money has been withdrawn from the account.
According to the report, the same incident took place last day with Vicky a resident of village Reiyan in district Samba, who works in a factory, got a phone call and the caller asked the name and account number of the Bank and later the ATM number. The caller also tells him that an OTP will come on his website and it will tell him that your account should be corrected.
Vicky inadvertently told him something and after some time an SMS came on his mobile that Rs 35,000 has been withdrawn from his account. Vicky informed the Police Station in-charge Amb Tali about this. It is worth mentioning that even before this many people of the area have lost money from their accounts. However people from banks and police have also been asked to be cautious when such a call comes.
