UDHAMPUR, Nov 3: A youth committed suicide by jumping into Dudar River near Garnai by pass National Highway Udhampur, here last evening.
The deceased was identified as Tanishq (20), son of Parveen Kumar, resident of Adarsh Colony, Udhampur.
Reports said that around 8:30 pm yesterday, the youth was noticed jumping into the Dudar River from the bridge near Garnai. On being informed by some locals, Inspector Nishat Sumbria, SHO Police Station Rehambal, along with Police team rushed to the spot and fished out the body, which was later shifted to the District Hospital, Udhampur for post-mortem and other legal formalities.
Cause of provocation behind the suicide could not be ascertained. Police Station Rehambal has taken cognizance of the matter and registered the case for further investigation.
