RAMBAN, May 21: A youth today committed suicide by hanging himself while as a woman attempted to end her life by consuming poisonous substance.
Reports said that 28-year old Abas Ali, son of Ishtiaq Ali of Kunfer under the jurisdiction of Chanderkote Police Station committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence early this morning.
Police has taken cognizance of the incident and started investigation to ascertain the cause, which compelled him to end his life.
Meanwhile, a woman Pinki Devi, wife of Vijay Singh of Peerah under the jurisdiction of Chanderkote Police Station attempted to end her life by consuming some poisonous substance.
She was shifted to hospital in unconscious condition and doctors immediately washed her stomach. Her condition was stated to be out of danger when reports last came in.
