UDHAMPUR, July 24: A youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances at an under-construction house in Dandyal, here today while a young man ended his life by hanging himself from a tree near his house at Kathil Dangal in Majalta.
Reports said that one Gurpreet Singh (18), son of Satnam Singh of Dinanagar, Gurdaspur, Punjab, at present putting up at Dandyal Udhampur, was found dead in an under construction house at Dandyal Udhampur.
On being informed by the locals, SHO Udhampur Raghuvir Singh rushed to the spot along with police team and took the youth to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared him as brought dead.
Even as cause of death could not be immediately ascertained, Police said that the deceased was detained a number of times for petty crimes and drug addiction.
The body was sent for the postmortem while a case has been registered in this connection for further investigation.
Meanwhile, a young man was found hanging from a tree near his house at Kathil Dangal in Majalta. The deceased was identified as Rakesh Sharma (32), son of Madan Lal of Kathil Dangal in Majalta.
Local people saw him hanging from the tree and immediately called the Police, Majalta Police rushed to the spot and shifted the dead body to PHC Majalta for the postmortem.
Police said it was an apparent case of suicide. However cause of provocation behind taking the extreme step could not be ascertained. Police have registered the case and further investigation is going on.
